The
BARF DIET™ does not
contain grain products.
Grains are not biologically
appropriate for our pets.
The ingestion of grain and
other starchy foods
contribute to most, if not
all, of the degenerative
diseases. Domestic pets
should be getting their
carbohydrate in a similar
manner to their wild
ancestors. That means fresh,
raw vegetables and fruit.
Most pet foods contain a
long list of additives,
preservatives and grain
products. Dr. Billinghurst's
BARF DIET looks only to the
freshest whole raw food
sources rich in vitamins,
minerals and essential fatty
acids from human grade
ingredients. Our BARF DIET
was developed following
decades of research in the
field of evolutionary animal
nutrition.

You can feed more or
less of the diet in order to keep your dog at its
optimum weight. Feed
normal active dogs 2% of their body weight per day.
For example, a 50 pound dog may do very well on one
pound of food per day, a 100 pound dog, 2 pounds of
food per day. A highly active dog may require 3% of
their body weight per day. In the case of a 50 pound
dog, they would then require about one and a half
pounds of food per day, a 100 pound dog, 3 pounds
per day.
